About

         Sondra is a native New Mexican who has dedicated her 30-year legal career to serving the people of her state.  She is a graduate of New Mexico State University and the George Washington University Law School.  She began her legal career in New Mexico as an Assistant District Attorney in a small office in Bernalillo New Mexico where she litigated in court every day.  She has 30 years’ experience advising and counseling agencies, and individuals in a variety of legal matters when she worked for the NM Attorney General’s Office and other state agencies.  Sondra has expertise in the regulation of the healthcare fields, as the former director of the New Mexico Medical Board, and the legal advisor to the many other healthcare boards during her tenure with the NM Attorney General’s Office.  She also has extensive experience in employment law. She recently served as an expert witness for the State of New Mexico in the Purdue Pharma litigation in which the State was successful.


         In her downtime, Sondra loves to spend time with her family, being active in nature, making art and fostering animals for the Espanola Humane Association.  Her work with them has been rewarding and challenging! She loves to spend time with her children and her dogs relaxing.
